This is a full-time role for a Traffic Project Engineer. They are responsible for supporting project managers and teams with administrative tasks, and with planning, scheduling, budgeting, executing construction projects on time, and the to required quality standards.
Base salary
$63,000/yr – $94,000/yr
Responsibilities:
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Review and interpret project drawings and specifications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, reports, change orders, and progress reports. Documents are tracked in the following programs: Plan grid, Bluebeam, Spectrum, and Egnyte.
- Monitor construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Facilitate effective communication between project teams, clients, general contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, to facilitate seamless project execution.
- Escalate semi- complex issues or request to senior members of the team for resolution.
- Coordinate with general contractor and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Process change orders and update project plans accordingly, keeping all parties informed of any modifications to scope, budget, or schedule.
- Work closely with the estimators and purchasing team to track project expenses and manage the budget effectively.
- Facilitate the project closeout process, including punch lists, as-built documentation, and final inspections.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent relevant work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in project coordination within the construction industry preferred.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Â Knowledge of construction processes, traffic control practices, construction paving, codes, regulations, methods, and materials.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to communicate written and orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is required.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 75% of the time, as well as the ability to move about the office occasionally is required.
- Able to drive 20 – 50% of the time to do construction site visits.
